Megan saves lawyers’ careers. She defends lawyers before the State Bar of California in disciplinary investigations and proceedings.
Megan believes that her mission to support lawyers can be fulfilled in countless innovative ways, and she is constantly striving to develop new tools to make defending and avoiding State Bar complaints easier and less costly. Most recently she launched The Playbook: The California Bar Discipline System Practice Guide, a membership website for lawyers defending themselves on disciplinary charges. The Playbook is the first of its kind support tool for lawyers facing discipline. It features a practice guide, online community, and library of sample court filings not otherwise available online.
Megan has always done things her own way, in both her personal and professional lives. Her self-designed educational path led her to graduation from UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law (Order of the Coif) at age 21. She clerked at the US Court of International Trade in New York and went on to practice securities litigation in three large firms in New York. Then she found her passion in representing lawyers and never looked back.
A California native, Megan was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is admitted to practice in California, New York, New Jersey, and Georgia, and she practiced remotely from Sydney, Australia while living there in 2010-2011. Physical location has never been a boundary to her practice.

Michael Morgan is a founding partner of Morgan & Cumbas in San Antonio, Texas. Michael holds both a JD from Baylor University School of Law as well as a MBA from Baylor. Admitted to the State of Bar of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Michael’s practice areas include immigration, personal injury, and criminal defense. When asked about the seemingly divergent nature of these practice areas, he replies, “The common denominator is size. I’m driven to work even harder when I’m in a David and Goliath battle.”
Events in Michael’s adolescence ignited a passion to represent victims of injustice – chiefly, witnessing the September 11th attack on New York from nearby a suburb. He recalls, “For years, my father passed through the World Trade Center every day on his way to work. I first learned of the attack when my mother relayed a message from my father confirming that he was safe. Notwithstanding my family’s blessing, thousands of innocent families were fractured that day. I wanted to give a voice for the mute.”
As fate would have it, Michael Morgan would eventually channel his vision, education, and training to serve the source of his inspiration. He had the opportunity to fulfill such service following the passage of the 911 Victim Compensation Fund.
Since founding Morgan & Cumbas, Michael has fought for hundreds of individuals in a wide variety of areas including: deportation proceedings; motions to reopen; appeals; auto accidents; commercial vehicle accidents; and felony charges. He has been recognized by The National Advocates as a Top 40 Under 40 (2018) and as a 10 Best Immigration Attorney Texas by the American Institute of Legal Counsel (2017).
With the support of the Morgan & Cumbas legal team, Michael is both proud and humbled by each opportunity to step into the courtroom.
